Gather the family and get ready to connect with your food—and each other—in a whole new way! Forage and Feast is a hands-on culinary farm adventure designed specifically for young kids and their grownups. We’re teaming up with The Talking Farm and Chef Ernesto of El Molcajete Sauces to bring this one-of-a-kind experience to our local community!
This isn't your typical “sit-still” dinner. We are breaking down the walls between the field and the plate, turning your little ones into farmers and sous chefs for the evening. Together, we’ll explore the farm, harvest organically grown ingredients, prep the meal with our chef, and share a beautiful al fresco feast. While the kids are busy exploring, adults will learn about sustainable urban agriculture and get practical tips for growing food at home from the farm’s team of experts.
What to Expect:
Explore (Family-Friendly Tour): The farm team will lead a short, engaging walking tour. You’ll see everything that's currently growing, learn about organic farming practices, and maybe even catch a glimpse of the farm's two resident barn cats!
Forage (Farm Scavenger Hunt): We’ll transition into a lively, kid-friendly scavenger hunt across the farm. Little farmers will hunt for clues to find seasonal crops, and our team will guide parents and children on how to properly harvest the produce we'll be using for dinner.
Prep (Cooking with the Chef): Once our baskets are full, we’ll head over to the prep area. Side-by-side with Chef Ernesto, families will wash, chop, and mix our freshly picked ingredients, learning fun kitchen skills along the way.
Feast (Community Dinner): After the "work" is done, we’ll grab a seat at our communal tables. We’ll share a delicious, organically grown meal made by our community, for our community.
